Frequently Asked Questions

Direct, transparent answers regarding source code IP ownership, milestone pricing, technical architectures, and delivery timelines for custom software in India.

Ownership & Intellectual Property

Who owns the code and IP after project delivery?

100% of the source code, database schemas, and intellectual property is transferred to you upon final payment and project handover. BeNextO India retains no rights over your system. You are free to host, modify, commercialize, or hand it to any development team you choose.

Do you retain access to the system after launch?

Only if you explicitly request ongoing support or maintenance access. By default, all admin credentials and server access are handed over to you at go-live. We do not retain any backend access post-delivery.

Is the code open source or proprietary?

The code we write for you is entirely proprietary to your organization — not open source. We use standard open-source frameworks (Laravel, Next.js, PostgreSQL) but everything we build on top is exclusively yours.

Pricing & Cost

How is the project cost calculated?

We price based on scope — the number of modules, user roles, integrations, and estimated development hours. After an initial discovery call, we provide a fixed-price milestone-based quotation. There are no hidden charges, no monthly licensing fees, and no per-user costs.

What is the typical budget range for a custom ERP?

A basic custom ERP with 3–5 core modules (inventory, billing, HR) typically starts from ₹2 lakhs. A comprehensive multi-department ERP with integrations, mobile app, and reporting dashboards can range from ₹5–15 lakhs depending on complexity.

Do you offer EMI or milestone-based payments?

Yes. Our standard payment structure is milestone-based: 30% upfront, 40% at mid-project review, and 30% at final delivery. For larger projects, we can discuss custom payment scheduling.

Are there any ongoing maintenance charges?

Ongoing maintenance is optional. We offer Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) separately if required. There are absolutely zero monthly licensing or subscription fees on any system we build for you.

Development Process & Timeline

How long does a typical custom software project take?

A basic module (e.g. inventory management) can be ready in 3–6 weeks. A full ERP with 6–8 modules typically takes 3–4 months. SaaS platforms with multi-tenancy and billing integrations generally take 4–6 months. We provide exact timelines after the discovery phase.

What does your development process look like?

We follow a 5-phase process: Discovery (requirements and database architecture) → Strategy (tech selection and roadmap) → Architecture (schema design and API blueprint) → Development (agile sprints with weekly demos) → Optimization (testing, UAT, and go-live). You get weekly progress updates throughout.

Can I see progress during development?

Yes. We deploy to a staging server from the first sprint so you can review real, working functionality at every milestone. We also schedule weekly video calls to walk through progress and gather feedback.

Do you sign an NDA before starting the project?

Absolutely. We sign a mutual NDA before any requirements discussion. Your business data, workflows, and operational details remain strictly confidential.

Technology & Architecture

What technology stack do you use?

Our primary backend stack is Laravel (PHP) for enterprise systems and Node.js/Next.js for SaaS platforms and web applications. We use PostgreSQL as our default relational database, with Redis for caching. For mobile, we use React Native. For AI/ML features, we integrate Python-based pipelines.

Why do you use Laravel instead of Node.js for ERP systems?

Laravel's Eloquent ORM, built-in role management, queue systems, and strong support for complex relational database schemas make it ideal for multi-module ERP systems. Its mature ecosystem and abundance of Indian PHP developers also makes future in-house maintenance easier for most of our clients.

Integrations & Customization

Can you integrate our custom software with Tally or GST portals?

Yes. We build automated integrations with Tally Prime (via XML/REST), GST E-Invoicing and E-Way bill APIs, WhatsApp Business API, Razorpay/PayU, and third-party logistics APIs (Delhivery, Shiprocket).

What if our operational requirements change during development?

We use an agile development approach. Small adjustments within the agreed scope are absorbed. If a major new module is requested, we scope it transparently and provide an add-on milestone estimate before starting work.

Location & Team

Where is BeNextO India located?

We are headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra. Our primary client base is in Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Kolhapur, and major industrial hubs across Maharashtra and India.

Can we meet in person to discuss our requirements?

Yes. For clients in Pune, Mumbai, and surrounding regions, our senior architects can meet at your office or manufacturing facility for in-person requirements discovery.
